Today’s Woman Foundation Mother’s Day “Inspiring Women” Luncheon
On Thursday, May 6, 2010, the Today’s Woman Foundation will host their 4th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center, Victorville, CA 11am-2pm. Approximately 30 local women will be recognized for their extraordinary service to community and family.
This year’s Keynote Speaker is Ms. Rory Kennedy, award–winning film documentary director and producer, inspirational speaker, humanitarian and daughter of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy. Ms. Kennedy in a statement said, "It is an honor to speak at the Today's Woman Mother's Day luncheon. So often women, especially mothers, put the needs, well-being, and health of others before their own. Today's Woman works to empower women to take control of their own lives, by taking control of their own health and wellness. Whether it's free Health Screenings or raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness, Today's Woman is actively making a difference in the wellness of women in our community. Though our methods are different, I also strive to make a difference through my work as a filmmaker. I have interviewed women of all walks of life and have gained inspiration and insight from each and every one of them. I look forward to sharing their stories, and celebrating the inspiring mothers and grandmothers in all of our lives, at the Today's Woman Mother's Day luncheon."
The Today’s Woman Foundation will also present their Annual Award of $1,000 to this year’s selected recipient. The Annual Award is given to a woman in our community that is facing a serious medical/healthcare challenge. Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt, Assemblymen Adams & Knight, Senator George Runner along with the Daily Press’ Stephan Wingert will recognize the service of the Inspiring Women honorees. There will also be a few surprise presentations.
The public is encouraged to attend the luncheon, tickets are $45 per person, and tables are also available. Proceeds from this event benefit the Today’s Woman Foundation currently celebrating 10 years of service addressing the whole health (Mind, Body & Spirit) of Today’s Woman.
